ReAnime is a community built on a shared love of anime, and that passion should bring people together — not push them apart. Every member, regardless of how long they've been here, what shows they enjoy, or what opinions they hold, deserves to be treated with basic human dignity. Heated debates about anime are encouraged, but there is a clear line between passionate discussion and personal attacks. You can strongly disagree with someone's opinion without insulting them as a person. Remember: behind every username is a real person. If you wouldn't say something to someone's face in a public space, don't say it here. Repeated violations of this rule will result in warnings, temporary mutes, and ultimately a permanent ban.

Harassment is defined as any behaviour that deliberately targets an individual with the intent to distress, intimidate, or humiliate them. This includes following someone across multiple comment sections to continue an argument, sending repeated unwanted messages, or coordinating with others to mass-report or mass-downvote a user. Stalking behaviour — such as tracking someone's comment history to find opportunities to attack them — is also a severe violation. We take these reports extremely seriously. First-time offenders will receive a final warning; repeat offenders will be permanently banned without appeal. If you are being harassed, use the report feature immediately and our moderation team will act within 24 hours.

Every episode, chapter, and anime title on ReAnime has a dedicated comment section for a reason — so fans can share their thoughts, reactions, and analysis in an organised way. When users flood these sections with irrelevant content, it ruins the experience for everyone else. A first-time viewer who opens the Episode 1 comments of their favourite new show should find genuine reactions and discussion, not walls of spam, unrelated memes, or political debates. Keep your comments relevant to the content being discussed. If you want to talk about something unrelated, use the off-topic community boards instead. Moderators reserve the right to delete any comment that derails or pollutes a discussion thread without prior warning.

We understand that anime fans are passionate, and emotional language is a natural part of expressing reactions — especially during shocking plot twists, brutal fight scenes, or emotional character deaths. For this reason, casual swearing used as emotional emphasis is permitted on ReAnime. However, there is an absolute zero-tolerance policy on hate speech of any form. This means no slurs targeting race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, or national origin — whether used as an insult, "ironically," or even in a quoting context. The intent behind the word does not matter; the harm it causes to the community does. Any comment found to contain such language will be immediately removed and the account actioned, potentially permanently.

The safety of our community members is our highest priority. Malicious links — including those containing viruses, spyware, ransomware, keyloggers, or phishing pages designed to steal login credentials — represent a severe threat to real people's security and finances. Any user found to be deliberately distributing dangerous links will be permanently banned immediately, with no chance of appeal. We also cooperate with relevant authorities when links relate to fraud, theft, or criminal schemes. If you see a suspicious link posted in any comment section, please report it immediately using the flag tool rather than clicking it. Our moderators actively scan for known malicious domains, but user reports help us catch new threats faster.

ReAnime operates legally and ethically within the anime industry's ecosystem. While we acknowledge the complex history of anime fandom and its relationship with fansubs and unofficial releases, we cannot permit direct links to pirated content on our platform. Sharing piracy links harms the studios, animators, composers, and voice actors whose hard work we all enjoy. Beyond the ethical dimension, many piracy sites carry significant security risks — including aggressive adware, auto-downloading scripts, and crypto miners that run silently in the background. Discussing the existence of piracy alternatives is generally acceptable; sharing direct links to access them is not. This rule is non-negotiable and its violation will result in an immediate account suspension.

Our comment sections exist for genuine anime discussion, not as a free advertising platform. Unsolicited self-promotion disrupts the community experience and undermines the authentic culture we work hard to maintain. There is a meaningful difference between organically sharing something relevant to a conversation and systematically posting your own links across multiple threads to drive traffic. The former is acceptable in moderation; the latter is spam and will be treated as such. This rule applies to all forms of promotional content — YouTube channels, Twitch streams, Discord servers, Patreon pages, affiliate marketing links, merchandise stores, and any service that generates financial benefit for the poster. Repeated violations will result in a permanent platform ban.

Discovering a major plot twist, character death, or story reveal at the moment it was intended to be experienced is one of the most special things anime has to offer. Spoiling that experience for someone else is a serious breach of community respect. ReAnime hosts comment sections for individual episodes, meaning a user watching Episode 3 should not have to encounter spoilers for Episode 20 just because they scrolled down. Always assume that users in any comment section may not have read ahead in the manga, watched ahead in the anime, or read any outside material. When in doubt, spoiler-tag it. Our platform supports spoiler markdown — wrap your text in double pipes ||like this|| to hide it behind a click-to-reveal overlay. Use it generously.

ReAnime is an open platform designed to be accessible to anime fans of all ages. As such, explicit or offensive media content is strictly prohibited in all areas of the site — profile pictures, comment image embeds, direct links to external image hosts, and any other publicly visible area. The anime medium spans from children's shows to mature adult titles, and while we discuss all of these, we do not allow explicit depictions in our shared community spaces. Moderators will remove violating content immediately and issue bans ranging from 30-day suspensions for first offences to permanent bans for severe content (child exploitation material, real-world gore, etc.). If you encounter NSFW content posted by another user, report it immediately using the flag button.

When a moderation action is taken against an account — whether a temporary suspension or a permanent ban — that decision applies to the individual, not just the account. Creating a new account to circumvent a ban is considered a serious breach of our moderation system and results in an escalated response: the new account will be banned, the original ban timer may be extended or converted to a permanent ban, and in persistent cases we will implement IP-level and device fingerprint restrictions. We recognise that some users legitimately own multiple accounts for separate purposes (e.g., a public account and a private one). This is permitted as long as neither account is used to evade moderation actions, bypass warnings, or artificially inflate engagement through self-interaction.

Our moderation team consists of experienced volunteers and staff who dedicate their time to keeping this community healthy and welcoming. Moderators act in accordance with these published rules, and all decisions are made with the goal of protecting the community rather than targeting individuals. If you receive a warning, comment removal, or account action and believe it was issued in error, you are entitled to appeal through our official support desk. What is not acceptable is publicly attacking moderators, flooding our support queue with repeated appeals after a decision has been finalised, or attempting to circumvent moderation actions by using loopholes. Moderators are people too, and any threats directed at them — online or offline — will result in an immediate permanent ban.
